HEMMINGFORD — Three Clinton County fire departments were called to assist in fighting a structure fire in Canada Saturday.
According to Mooers Volunteer Fire Department Chief Raymond Phair, a mutual aid request was sent at 1:45 p.m. to assist with a house fire near Hemmingford, Quebec.
Departments from Champlain and Rouses Point were called in while a crew from Ellenburg Depot was on standby at the Hemmingford station.
Phair said the structure was an older building connected to a two-story home. The older building was fully engulfed by flames by the time Mooers firefighters arrived and Phair said he expected it to be a total loss.
He said the fire was largely extinguished by 4 p.m. with limited personnel remaining on-site to watch for any rekindles.
Both Champlain and Mooers stations were back in service by 6 p.m.
No further information was available Saturday.
