CHAMPLAIN — A Champlain man was arrested for alleged felony drunken driving Saturday.
At about 7:03 p.m., Timothy N. Lacount was operating a vehicle on State Route 11 when he was stopped by State Police for an inoperative headlamp, Chazy-based State Police said.
The odor of marijuana and an alcohol was evident. He provided a positive breath sample and a search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, police said.
Lacount was charged with felony DWI, with a previous conviction in the past 10 years. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and inadequate headlamps, an infraction, police said.
He was arraigned in the Town of Champlain Court and was sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond, and is to reappear in court Nov. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
