PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman faces a felony charge after allegedly assaulting an officer.

Plattsburgh City Police were called to 100 Cornelia St. at about 5 a.m. Oct. 20 to respond to a domestic disturbance.

Inside apartment 3E, they reportedly found Alicia Buckley, 21, behaving erratically and attempted to speak with her.

Police said she continued to act extremely belligerent and they later placed her under arrest.

Upon doing so, Buckley allegedly struck the arresting officer in the face with a closed fist, inflicting injury to his eye.

She was charged with second-degree attempted assault with intent to cause physical injury, a felony. Buckley was also charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

She was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court before being sent to Clinton County Jail, where she remains in custody until her Oct. 30 court date.
