CHAMPLAIN — A Champlain man was charged with criminal mischief June 7.
Cody R. Cook, 21, allegedly kicked a second story porch and railing until it tore from the building and collapsed on to the ground, according to Chazy-based State Police.
Niraa Shilling, 37, of Saranac, fell from the second story structure and was transported to CVPH Medical Center for a fractured neck and spine, police said.
Cook was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a felony, for the damage to the porch. He was arraigned before Chazy Court and committed to Clinton County Jail. He was to return to court June 12.
