Police: Dunkin Donuts manager stole funds

PLATTSBURGH — The manager of a local Dunkin’ Donuts franchise was charged Sunday with stealing about $1,900 in company bank deposits.

Joey M. Reeves, 26, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, according to State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman.

Reeves was the manager of the recently opened Dunkin’ Donuts franchise at the Good Guys convenience store on State Route 22 in the Town of Plattsburgh.

On March 24, the area manager for Dunkin’ Donuts told police she discovered that money was “disappearing” from the store and that bank deposits were not being made, Fleishman said.

Deposits prepared on March 17, 20, 21, 22 and 23 were all missing and never made it to the bank for deposit, she said.

Reeves was the one working on those dates and was responsible for making the deposits, the trooper said.

He was issued an appearance ticket for April 3 in Plattsburgh Town Court.

No further charges were pending, Fleishman said.

According to a previous Press-Republican story, Reeves had been a member of the Dunkin’ Donuts management team for franchise owner Ray Aley for 12 years.
