LEWIS — A Plattsburgh man escaped his vehicle Thursday night unscathed after it rolled into a river, police said.

Bryant Demelo, 25, was driving a ‘79 GMC westbound in slippery road conditions on Trout Pond Road when his vehicle exited the roadway, struck an embankment and rolled over into the river, Lewis-based State Police said.

Demelo was able to free himself from the vehicle and did not require medical attention, police said.

The call was dispatched to State Police at 11:22 p.m.

The GMC was removed from the river by a local company, police said.

No further information was available.
