SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man faces multiple charges following a traffic stop early Saturday.
According to Saranac Lake Village Police, Robert M. Woods, 33, was stopped by officers on Brandy Brook Lane for operating a vehicle with a loud exhaust.
An investigation revealed Woods was intoxicated at the time, police said, and was driving with a suspended drivers licence and suspended registration.
In addition, he refused to submit to a roadside breath screening device, according to police.
Woods was arrested at 3:35 a.m. and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within the past 10 years, both felonies.
He was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operation with a suspended registration, both misdemeanors, as well as operating a vehicle with a loud exhaust and failure to submit to a roadside breath screening instrument.
After being arraigned in Village Court, Woods posted $1,500 cash bail and was released to a third party.
He is expected to reappear in court at a later date.
