Police Log: March 29, 2013 — Felony arrest

---- — CHAMPLAIN — A Plattsburgh man was arrested for allegedly burglarizing his brother’s residence.

On March 12, State Police received a call from the brother of Michael J. Parent-McDougal that his Cedar Street home in the Village of Champlain had been broken in to, Chazy-based State Police said.

A window had been removed from the residence and was put in backwards, police said.

The man had heard from his neighbors that the burglar was his brother, police said.

About $25 worth of tobacco and cigarette-rolling tubes were taken from the residence, police said.

Judge John A. Favreau issued an arrest warrant and Parent-McDougal, 26, was arrested in Plattsburgh on March 21, police said.

He was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony.

He was arraigned and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.

Parent-McDougal was due to appear in court March 28.
