CHAMPLAIN — A State Police patrol car was damaged in an accident Monday.
Trooper Christian Wager was driving on I-87 south of Champlain at about 9:50 p.m. on snow-covered roads when his vehicle went off the road and struck a guide rail, according to Plattsburgh-based State Police Lt. Todd St. Louis.
“That was definitely a factor,” St. Louis said of the poor driving conditions, adding that the State Police are thankful no one was injured in the accident.
St. Louis said the accident is under investigation and the circumstances surrounding the crash with be reconstructed.
“We take highway safety very seriously,” St. Louis said.
