PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was arrested on felony DWI charges Saturday.
Shortly before 2:15 a.m., Plattsburgh City Police observed Marissa Schoonmaker, 20, of Tivoli, N.Y., allegedly driving the wrong way on Brinkerhoff Street in the City of Plattsburgh, which is a one-way street, according to Plattsburgh City Police Chief Desmond Racicot.
Schoonmaker’s vehicle was allegedly driving between the two lanes in the middle of the road, Racicot said.
Police stopped Schoonmaker on William Street and found her to be under the influence of alcohol, Racicot said.
She allegedly failed field sobriety tests, he said.
Schoonmaker was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. She was ticketed for failure to keep right, driving the wrong way on a one-way street and speeding.
Schoonmaker was released from police custody to a sober third party to appear in court at a later date, Racicot said.
