SCHROON — An Albany man was arrested in the Town of Schroon on felony charges Dec. 30.
According to Plattsburgh-based State Police, John Deely, 40, had recently gotten out of a relationship with a girlfriend.
Deely’s ex-girlfriend had changed the locks on the doors to the residence they shared on Bohrmann Drive in the Town of Schroon. Deely was removed from the residence earlier that day, Dec. 30, and advised by police not to return, police said.
When Deely’s ex-girlfriend came home with her uncle after going out, they found Deely allegedly drunk and passed out on the couch, police said.
Deely’s girlfriend called police again at 8:33 p.m.
When Deely was arrested at 9:48 p.m., troopers found a bottle of hydrocodone pills on him that were prescribed to someone else, police said.
Deely was charged with second-degree burglary of a dwelling, a felony; fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; and second degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.
Deely was arraigned in the Town of Schroon Court and remanded to the Essex County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond. Deely’s court information was not available Saturday.
