TUPPER LAKE — Two Rhode Island men were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop Friday night. One also faces a felony weapons charge.
Tupper Lake-based State Police said they pulled over John J. Bartlett of Johnston and Travis R. Touliot of Woonsocket for a traffic infraction on Route 30 at about 9:05 p.m. The pair was arrested shortly after.
Bartlett, 37, was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation; two counts of controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation of the public health law; third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony; and driving without a license, an infraction.
Bartlett was arraigned in Tupper Lake Court before Judge Leonard Young and sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond.
Touliot, 43, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation; and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway, an infraction.
Touliot was released on an appearance ticket and is due to appear in Tupper Lake Court at 5 p.m. Nov. 20.
