SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man was charged Saturday with attempted burglary and conspiracy.
Michael J. Gonyea, 42, of Saranac Lake, was charged with first-degree attempted burglary, a felony; second-degree attempted burglary, a felony; fourth-degree conspiracy, a felony; third-degree criminal mischief, a felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor; third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.
Gonyea’s arrest is the result of an investigation into two separate incidents occurring in the early morning hours of Aug. 16, Saranac Lake Police said in a news release.
Police recovered weapons and other evidence, the release said.
Gonyea was arrested with the assistance of Malone Village Police and State Police.
He was arraigned in Saranac Lake Village Court and sent to Essex County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected, the release said.
