PLATTSBURGH — A Wallkill, N.Y., bicyclist was injured in an accident at 9:29 p.m. June 1.
Joseph Candelaria, 59, was struck by a vehicle driven by a Ms. T. Brumfield, 30, of Plattsburgh, Plattsburgh City Police said.
Brumfield’s first name was not available.
According to police reports, Candelaria was bicycling west on Elm Street, and Brumfield was driving south on North Catherine Street. She stopped at the stop sign at the intersection and then went forward; City Police reported that Brumfield said she did not see the bicycle because it was raining and it was dark. She struck the back tire, they said, causing Candelaria to fall off.
Candelaria was taken to CVPH Medical Center where he was treated and released, police said.
Brumfield was ticketed with failure to yield the right of way to a vehicle in an intersection.
