CHAZY — A West Chazy woman was arrested Wednesday following an alleged domestic incident.
Sherry L. Gallant, 44, allegedly broke several items in a residence and was arrested at 5:38 p.m. by Chazy-based State Police, State Police said.
When police searched her purse, they found about eight hydrocodone pills inside an unmarked bottle, police said.
Gallant claimed she had a prescription for the pills but police were unable to verify that at the time of her arrest, police said.
Police also found Gallant in possession of a marijuana pipe containing pot residue, police said.
Gallant was charged with third-degree criminal mischief of property valued at more than $250, a felony. seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
She was arraigned in Chazy Town Court and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
Gallant is scheduled to reappear in court June 18.
