PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged Feb. 7 with possession of a forged instrument.
James M. Laduke Jr., 20, of Plattsburgh stole a check from his father, forged his signature and cashed it for $120 at the Wal-Mart in Plattsburgh, State Police said.
Laduke was charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony; fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor, and petit larceny.
He was arraigned in Peru Town Court and was sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
