PLATTSBURGH — A Witherbee man was charged with four counts criminal possession of stolen property Feb. 4.
Ronald L. Merrill, 22, stole credit cards and personal documents from four people, State Police said.
Police received the initial report from a family member of one of the victims on Oct. 28, 2013.
In September 2013, Merrill stole two Moriah residents’ wallets from their cars, which were parked in their driveways, police said.
He allegedly took a third wallet from a vehicle parked at a residence in Port Henry.
In the fourth incident, Merrill took credit cards from a women’s wallet while he was at her Witherbee residence, police said.
He was arrested while already in the Essex County Jail on other charges, police said, and he was further charged with four counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.
