FELONY ARREST

CHAZY -- A 24-year-old Ellenburg man, wanted on charges stemming from an incident where he allegedly rammed a vehicle off the road, injuring its driver, turned himself in Saturday.

Ronald Lavalley Jr., of Drown Road, was charged with felony reckless endangerment and felony criminal mischief, according to Chazy-based State Police.

Lavalley is accused of ramming his 1994 Ford Mustang three times into a 2003 Kia driven by Shawn Edwards, 24, of Davison Road, Mooers Forks. Edwards vehicle was run off the road, into a metal fence, then into a driveway ditch, police said.

He suffered a fractured rib and a torn tendon as a result of the Nov. 7 incident, which occurred during the early morning hours on State Route 11 in Mooers Forks, half a mile west of Woods Falls Road, police said.

They would not give details of what led to the incident, other than to say the two had previous dealings.

Lavalley was arraigned in the Town of Mooers Court and remanded to Clinton County Jail for lack of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond. He remained there Saturday night.

PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENT

CHAMPLAIN -- Two employees of the FedEx on Spellman Road were sent to CVPH Medical Center with injuries Friday evening after the trucks they were driving collided, Chazy-based State Police said.

Christopher Boutin, 25, of Mooers Forks, suffered abrasions and minor bleeding on his hands when the Ryder rental truck he was driving allegedly rear-ended a FedEx truck driven by Justin Gadway, of Cadyville. Gadway had bruising and an abrasion on the side of his head after his truck flipped on its side.

Police said both men were driving on West Service Road, toward the Exit 43 on-ramp for I-87, when Gadway slowed to turn right onto the ramp. Boutin, who was behind Gadway, failed to see Boutin slow and swerved left. He collided with the other vehicle anyway, police said.

Gadway's truck spun off the side of the road, its wheels dug in and it overturned, police said.

Tickets are pending further investigation.
