MOOERS — State Police are investigating the recent theft of about 10 tons of scrap metal taken from a Simmons Road property.

Police said an area resident recently noticed that four older-model vehicles had been taken off her property.

If sold for scrap metal, the stolen vehicles could net about $3,000.

Police believe the thief may have been driving a dark-colored Chevrolet S-10 pickup and are asking anyone with information about the felony theft to call the Chazy station at 846-7476.
