PLATTSBURGH -- A man faces three felony charges in connection with an alleged assault last June.
The Clinton County Sheriff's Department reported Javon G. Carroll, 22, of Plattsburgh, turned himself in at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sheriff's Department. He was the subject of a bench warrant issued by Superior Court Justice Timothy Lawliss on March 31.
In an indictment filed with the Clinton County Supreme and County Court Clerk's Office Dec. 20, 2007, Carroll is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies.
Those charges stem from an incident on or about June 3, 2007, in which Carroll is alleged to have struck Thomas Wells with a four-foot wooden level. The alleged assault left Wells with a fractured skull and lacerations to the ear and elbow, which resulted in hearing loss and other injuries.
Carroll is being held in Clinton County Jail until he is arraigned in Superior Court.
