SARANAC LAKE -- A local teen is behind bars for allegedly selling ecstasy to an informant.
A joint narcotics investigation by Saranac Lake Village Police and Lake Placid Police led to Michael A. Pelkey's arrest on felony and misdemeanor charges Friday afternoon.
The 19-year-old allegedly sold the drug to an informant in August 2007 and was charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree conspiracy and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Pelkey, who is from Saranac Lake, was arraigned in Village Court and taken to the Franklin County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond, which he had not posted as of Friday evening.
Village Police said the investigations are ongoing and that more arrests are possible.
