TICONDEROGA — The Essex County Department of Social Services Fraud Investigation Unit announced Thursday that a Ticonderoga woman pleaded guilty to welfare fraud.
Officials said Mary Minor, 33, of Ticonderoga was originally charged with third-degree welfare fraud and multiple counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing for allegedly submitting numerous false day-care vouchers that totaled more than $12,000.
They said a plea agreement allowed Minor to plead guilty to fifth-degree welfare fraud in satisfaction of the charges.
She was ordered to pay restitution and serve 60 days in the Essex County Jail.
