Personal-injury accidents

DANNEMORA -- Allegedly driving too fast resulted in a shoulder injury and ticket for a Standish woman.

At around 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Margo Gonyea, 36, was driving southbound on the Standish Road, about 3.5 miles south of Route 374, when her vehicle slid on the snow. It rolled over and came to rest against a tree.

Gonyea complained of pain to her shoulder and upper-arm area and was transported to CVPH Medical Center.

She was ticketed for failure to reduce speed in hazardous conditions.

PLATTSBURGH -- An unlicensed operator allegedly caused an accident after backing out of a driveway Thursday evening.

Kristen Katz, 23, backed out of a driveway in a northwesterly direction on the Bradford Road in the Town of Plattsburgh at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The Plattsburgh woman proceeded forward in a northeasterly direction and turned left to enter a driveway across the street.

Barbara Harnden, 43, of Morrisonville, was driving northeasterly on the same road and was unable to avoid a collision with Katz's vehicle.

Katz complained of a neck injury and Harnden a chest injury. Both were transported to CVPH Medical Center.

Police ticketed Katz for failure to yield the right of way entering a roadway and unlicensed operation.

SANTA CLARA -- A woman from Tupper Lake got a nosebleed and a ticket Thursday afternoon.

Rochelle Baker, 17, was driving northbound on State Route 30 in Santa Clara allegedly at an unsafe speed.

While trying to navigate a curve, her vehicle crossed the yellow line, entering the southbound lane, and struck another vehicle. That vehicle drove onto the shoulder, over a snowbank and hit a guardrail.

Baker suffered a small cut on her ear and minor bleeding from her nose. She was ticketed for crossing the center line.
