ALTONA -- Stephanie Rivers and Shawn Bourgeois were married June 28, 2008, in the Rainbow Wedding and Banquet Hall in Altona by Town of Champlain Justice John Favreau. The ceremony was followed by a reception.

The bride is the daughter of Mary and Ronald Kowalski of Beekmantown and Gary and Kimberly Rivers of Champlain. The bridegroom is the son of Louise and Harvey Bohannon of Swanton, Vt., and Gary Bourgeois of Bloomingdale.

Felicia Rumble of Lake George was matron of honor and April Pelkey of West Chazy was maid of honor. Best man was Charles Hemingway of Altona.

Bridesmaids were Jessica Pelkey of Champlain and Melissa Hartson of Beekmantown. Brandie Rivers of Champlain was junior bridesmaid. Flower girls were Jordeyn Bourgeois of Champlain, daughter of the bride and bridegroom; and Kyaira Rivers and Isabelle Rivers of Beekmantown, the bride's nieces.

Ushers were Gary Bourgeois of West Chazy, brother of the bridegroom; and Mark Lamberton of Champlain and Kevin Lamberton of Mooers Forks, the bridegroom's cousins. Wyatt Rivers of Champlain, brother of the bride, was junior usher.

The bride was escorted by her father, Gary Rivers, and her brother, Jason Rivers.

Stephanie Bourgeois graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 2000 and Clinton Community College in 2003 with an associate degree in human resource. She is a CSR at Brooke & Irwin Insurance Agency.

Shawn Bourgeois attended Northeastern Central School. He is a truck driver at Sysco Food Services.

The couple reside in Champlain. They are planning a trip at a later date.
