KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Roldon and Joyce Brown of 1793 Military Turnpike, Plattsburgh, celebrated their 50th anniversary July 12, 2008, by taking a trip to Knoxville, Tenn., to visit their daughter and her family, and to the Grand Ole Opry and sightseeing. The trip was given to them by their daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Steven Bouvia, and the Bouvias' twins, Melissa and Matthew. Deborah and Steven were celebrating their 30th anniversary at the same time. Joyce and Roldon will renew their vows today, Aug. 31.

Roldon Brown and Joyce Gero were married July 12, 1958, in St. Ann's Church, Mooers Forks, by the Rev. Gilbert Menard. Their wedding attendants were Gladys Burnell, sister of the bride; and Wayne King, the bridegroom's cousin.

Roldon is retired from Imperial Wallcoverings, and Joyce is retired from Beekmantown Central School.

Roldon and Joyce have been enjoying the last 10 years of retirement by spending their winters in Dade City, Fla., with golf, shuffleboard, karaoke and bingo, with their friends. They like spending part of the summer at home, camping and enjoying their family and friends.
