Garman: 50 Years

TUCSON, Ariz. -- James and Ruth Garman of Morrisonville and the Voyager RV Resort in Tucson, Ariz., where they spend their winters, celebrated their 50th anniversary Jan. 18, 2008. Festivities in their honor took place Feb. 9 at a party for Jim and Ruth hosted by the Voyager, with 31 other couples in attendance. There was dinner, entertainment and dancing in the ballroom. Three of the Garmans' children with their spouses surprised them by attending.
James Garman and Ruth Flemming were married Jan. 18, 1958, in St. John's Church, Plattsburgh, by the Rev. James Flattery. Their wedding attendants were Joan Speth-Williams and Don Pellitier. Jim is retired from Town of Plattsburgh, and Ruth is a homemaker.
Their children are: Fred and Tammy (Garman) Williams of Hopkins, Minn.; Mike and Connie Garman of Cadyville; Chris and Patty Garman of Chicago, Ill.; Greg and Leslie Garman of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Ernie and Laura (Garman) Follmer of Plattsburgh; and Bill and Suzanne Garman of Loveland, Colo. They have 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
