KEENE -- Richard and Rita Hartson of Bear Brook Way, Keene, celebrated their 65th anniversary March 7, 2008.
Richard Hartson and Rita Smith were married March 7, 1943, in St. Brendan's Church, Keene, by the Rev. Napoleon Brisson. Their wedding attendants were Marion Estes and Charles M. Hartson Jr., brother of the bridegroom.
Richard was head custodian-bus driver and retired from Keene Central School. Rita was a nursing assistant at local hospitals.
Their children are: Michael A. Hartson of Keene, his wife, Ann, and daughters Hilary and Brooke; Lawrence M. Hartson of Jay, his wife, Anne, and daughter, Kendall, and stepsons, Skye and Colter; and Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Hickey of Keene and her daughters, Andrea, Amy and Alicia. They have four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. A son, James R. Hartson, died earlier.
