Coon: 50 years

PLATTSBURGH — Mr. and Mrs. James H. Coon of 236 Hill St., Keeseville, and Crystal River, Fla., were honored June 6, 2009, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Their children, Karen Coon and Charles Crooker of Peru and Ricky Coon and Danielle Fuller of Keeseville, held a dinner reception with music in their honor at the Plattsburgh VFW Post on Boynton Avenue in Plattsburgh with family and friends in attendance.

James Coon and Gail Bechard were married Jan. 3, 1959, in St. Joseph's Church in Coopersville.

James and Gail owned and operated Adirondack Mobile Home Sales & Service, Pray's Motel & Mobile Home Court and Jim & Son's for 40 plus years and retired in 2000.

After working and raising their three children, Karen, Ricky and the late Jeffrey Coon, they now spend their winters at their home in Crystal River, Fla. They have six grandchildren: Justin (and Taetum) Crooker of Peru, Krystal Crooker of Peru, Kelly (and Clem) Bell of Plattsburgh, Jeffrey (and Courtney) Coon of Plattsburgh, Heather (and Bryan) Douglas of AuSable Forks, and Holly Coon of Peru. They also have seven great-grandchildren: Matthew and Adam Crooker; Clem, Haley, Tyler and Alivia Bell; Emily Coon; and another great-granddaughter, Bailey, to be born in July.
