In the Best Themed-Entered Bed Contest, a golden bed pan and $150 was awarded to Champlain National Bank, whose team was dressed as bank robbers. Thirty-two teams participated, raising just over $7,500 to be used for many worthy causes in the local community.

“Many of these beds were sponsored by local businesses or individuals and were raced by teams of students from SUNY Plattsburgh,” said Courtney Chandler, chair of the bed races. “This teaming up of businesses and students is really what makes the race exciting.

“Special thanks goes to King Sponsor Wendell’s Furniture; Queen Sponsors IBEW/NECA, The Development Corp, UFirst Federal Credit Union and Champlain National Bank; Twin Sponsors Nine Platt Hospitality Group, Agency Insurance, Raymond James, Fesette Realty, Primelink, Abbott, Frenyea & Russell CPA’s, NBT Bank, Casella Waste Systems, West Bay Financial, First View Eye Care, CVPH Medical Center, Olive Ridley’s, Eye Care for the Adirondacks, Northern Insuring and Yipes!
