Cadyville man named guide director-at-large

---- — Peter A. Siskavich, the owner of Hare & Hounds Adventures Guide Service, was elected a director-at-large of the New York State Outdoor Guides Association at its recent annual Rendezvous.

“It’s an honor to be elected as a director,” Siskavich said of the new position. “NYSOGA is a good group of people.”

Siskavich lives in Cadyville and has hunted with family members all his life, but four years ago was encouraged to get his guide license by friend and fellow guide Rick Kovacs of Packbasket Adventures in Wanakena.

Siskavich now leads snowshoe hare hunts with his three beagles, Champ, Coal and Thunder. More information can be found about him at

NYSOGA, an organization of professional licensed outdoor guides from all over the Empire State, actively promotes responsible use of the outdoors and has a strict code of ethics for its members.

Hiring on to lead many types of outdoor activities requires a guide’s license from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
