Emily Jordan Betrus, daughter of Colleen and Jim Betrus of Peru, has been named to the Dean’s List at Boston University and nominated to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the honor society for high-achieving first- and second-year college students.
Sondra Olds of Chazy has been named to the President’s List at Castleton State College, Castleton, Vt., where she is a communications student. To qualify for this honor, students must maintain full-time status and a semester GPA of 4.0.

The Adirondack Health Foundation has awarded $10,500 in scholarships to students pursuing an education for careers in the health-care field. Winners of $3,500 each at North Country Community College are Kailei Minnie and Danielle Phelan, both enrolled in the registered nursing program, and Miranda Ward, enrolled in the licensed practical nursing program.
Elizabeth Christon of Cadyville was among 593 students from Genesee Community College to be named to the President’s List for the fall 2012 semester.
Patti J. Collins-Fredette of Plattsburgh has completed requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree in human services specializing in general human services from Cazenovia College. She will received her degree at the college’s commencement exercises in May.
