Area schools registering children

Schools around the North Country have registration underway.

Here are some of the sites with availabilities:

Peru Elementary School. Summer registration for students in grades kindergarten through sixth for the first time in September will be held on Tuesday, July 22, and Tuesday, Aug. 12, between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Parents should call the school for a screening appointment as soon as possible. Children must be 5 on or before Dec. 1 to be eligible for fall kindergarten. Parent or guardian must bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization record and two proof of residencies. Seton Academy. Registration for grades kindergarten through 6 for 2014-15 school year. Forms and information available at www.seton-academy.net or by calling 825-7386.

SUNY Plattsburgh Child Care Center. Registering children for fall 2014. Year-round center offers enriching care and education program for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. In addition to full-day program groups, half-day preschool program is offered. SUNY students, faculty, staff, non-SUNY state employees and families in the larger community are invited to call. Eligible SUNY students may apply for tuition subsidies through a Child Care and Development Block Grant, which can significantly reduce the weekly fee. Peru Nursery School. Accepting registrations for the 3- and 4-year-old program, 2014-15 school year. Check www.perunurseryschool.org or call 643-0616 for details.

Adirondack Helping Hands. Immediate openings for infant care. Located at Kaleidoscope Children’s Center, 427 Margaret St., Plattsburgh. 561-6361.

ACAP After-School Program. Accepting applications for program sites at Moriah Central School, Willsboro Central, Westport Central, Schroon Lake Central and Elizabethtown-Lewis Central. Students in grades pre-K through sixth are eligible. Call (877) 873-3207, ext. 234 or 249, for application.

Saranac Co-operative Nursery School. Program academically based and runs on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Located at the former Dannemora Elementary. Children must be 3 years old and potty trained. Call 492-2448 for registration and information.
