Kelly Wehrenberg, Kelilah Wolkowicz and Marisa Wolosz all made the highest-honors list for the final quarter at Plattsburgh High School. They were all seniors and graduated from PHS in June.
Several area residents have been recognized for academic achievements at SUNY Oswego. Named to the President's List are Leah R. Winners of the annual Spring Poetry Contest held by the Champlain Valley Reading Council are first place to Courtney Gilmore of Chazy Rural Central School, and Ashley Gilmore, second place in grades six through eight; First place Dylan Almadover, second place to Anna Lashway and third place to Tara Danforth, all of Northern Adirondack Elementary School, Ellenburg, in grades three through five.
This year's theme was "Reading and Me." Winners received both monetary awards from CVRC and poetry books from New York State Reading Association.
Keith R. Letky of Plattsburgh has been named to the Vice-President's List at Mohawk Valley Community College.
Local students at Clarkson University, Potsdam, have been recognized for academic excellence by being named to the Presidential Scholar list or the dean's list.

Katherine Grovine, daughter of Keith and Lynn Grovine and a student at Northeastern Clinton School, attended the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership seminar in Troy.
The seminars bring together a select group of high-school sophomores from public and private high school to interact with groups of distinguished leaders in business, government, education and the professions to discuss present and future issues.
Milo Marnes, son of Tom and Gail Marnes and a graduate of Saranac Central School, has been awarded a Best Buy Scholarship. He plans to attend Plattsburgh State University.
