Gibson Brothers on awards show tonight

BRAINARDSVILLE — The Gibson Brothers, the much acclaimed bluegrass band from the North Country, is up for four titles at Thursday’s International Bluegrass Music Association Awards at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, and fans can watch the show online.

Find the Bluegrass Today live webcast, beginning at 7:45 p.m., at http://tinyurl.com/8r85yg4. As well, the show will be aired on Sirius XM’s Bluegrass Junction or can be heard online at www.wsmonline.com.

The band, fronted by Eric and Leigh Gibson, has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year.

The latter two are for the song “Singing as We Rise,” with Ricky Skaggs on mandolin and vocals, on the album, “Help My Brother.”

The Gibsons will perform live at the awards show, then, on Saturday, at the Plattsburgh Bluegrass Festival.

“We’re going to drive straight back Friday, Eric said.
