Plattsburgh man pleads guilty to raping 14-year-old

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A Plattsburgh man was sentenced Tuesday to five to seven years in prison for raping a 14-year-old girl.

David Neyer, 24, pleaded guilty in Berkshire Superior Court in Pittsfield, Mass., to nine counts of rape and abuse of a child, according to a news release from the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office.

Judge John Agostini ordered that Neyer serve his prison time at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction, located in South Walpole, Mass., the release said.

The sexual abuse happened in Pittsfield between July 24, 2012, and Sept. 2, 2012, the release said.

The Pittsfield Police Department conducted the investigation into the crimes, the DA’s Office said.

No further information could be released on the case, said Fred Lantz, spokesperson for the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office.
