Chazy Democrats plan Meet the Candidates event

CHAZY — The Chazy Democratic Hootenanny Meet the Candidates event will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Weathercock Tavern in Chazy.

Village of Champlain to flush hydrants

CHAMPLAIN — The Village of Champlain will be flushing hydrants Monday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Oct. 25, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day.

This includes the Landfill Water District and the Ridge Road Water District. Some discoloration can be expected.

Town of Peru sets special meeting, zoning hearing

PERU — The Peru Town Council will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, to award the contract for repair work on Fuller Road.

The session, open to the public, will take place downstairs at the Town Hall.

Also, the Town Council has scheduled a public hearing on the new Zoning Law for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, also at the Town Hall.

Village of Champlain sets Pickup Days

CHAMPLAIN — The Village of Champlain will conduct its Fall Pickup Days on Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29, picking up leaves and lawn debris in clear plastic bags. 

No other debris is allowed in the bags, which should be put by the curbside by 7 a.m. on each scheduled day. Any bags that are unmanageable due to weight or tearing will be left for the homeowner.

The village will also pick up loose brush during this time that is 3 inches or less in diameter and 5 feet long or less. Only one pick-up truck load will be allowed per property.

Forum set forCity of Plattsburgh candidates

PLATTSBURGH — The League of Women Voters of the Plattsburgh Area is sponsoring the Citywide Councilperson Candidate Forum in the Rotunda at Plattsburgh City Hall at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23. 

All wards will be represented. Questions from the audience will be solicited.
