Peru day care plans care-package project for soldiers

PERU — Little Elephant Learners day care wants to show support to military members overseas.

Owner Angela Rock and Assistant Kelsey Currier invite input on names of a few local soldiers they can help and what items would be welcome in care packages.

“We know that many of the soldiers have children of their own, and we feel that projects and gifts from other children would be special for them,” a press release said.

Items can be dropped off at the day care, located at 3459 Route 22 in Peru. For more information or to offer suggestions, call 534-6216 or 335-6585.

Westport School Board to meet Thursday

WESTPORT — The Westport Central School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the school library.

Agenda items include extracurricular appointments, tax-roll correction and any other business that may come before the board.

The public is welcome.

Chazy to hear comments on comprehensive plan

CHAZY — The Chazy Town Council will hold a public hearing at 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, for review of the draft of its comprehensive plan.

Copies of the document are available for review at the Chazy Town Hall, Route 9, Chazy.
