100 YEARS — 1913

▶ It is believed that the new state rest law, providing all employees in factories and mercantile establishments have at least 24 hours of consecutive rest time every week, will not materially effect the establishments in Plattsburgh, however the law is to be enforced. 

▶ The Essex County forest fires are under complete control, and assistance given by soldiers was of great value in holding the flames in check. The fire started during a severe electrical storm after a month of drought. 

▶ Two Polish miners were shot during another riot at Lyon Mountain. How the trouble started is not known.
