PLATTSBURGH — The American Windsurfing Tour will be at Plattsburgh City Beach on Saturday and Sunday for the Lake Champlain Windsurfing Festival.
The tour, presented by Trade Wind Events, is in its fourth year and has held events throughout California, Hawaii, Mexico and Peru.
It is being hosted locally by the Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau and the City of Plattsburgh.
The event features free nonstop windsurfing action for all skill levels, including freestyle, bump and jump, slalom/formula racing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and paddleboard exhibitions, a Cumberland Bay long-distance race, a Family Fun Race, demonstrations, clinics and appearances by professional windsurfers Kevin Pritchard and Tyson Poor.
There will also be a pancake breakfast with proceeds supporting the Imaginarium Children’s Museum, as well as awards, prizes, raffles, evening music and a barbecue.
The event starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday.
