Fireworks close today's Battle of Plattsburgh events


4 to 7 p.m.: Cannonball Run, preregistration, Trinity Park. Or preregister at or call 563-6186.

4 to 11 p.m.: Israel Green Tavern, vintage dining and entertainment, 18 Trinity Place.

4:30 to 6 p.m.: Roy Hurd concert, Israel Green Tavern, 18 Trinity Place.

5 to 6 p.m.: Eliza Mooers Historic District Walking Tour, Melissa Bistor-Cross, starts at Macdonough Monument.

6 to 8:30 p.m.: Charlie Stone and Split Rock concert, 18 Trinity Place.

7:30 to 9:30 p.m.: Spirit of Johnny Cash concert, City Hall steps.

9 to 11 p.m.: Alice Knight and Speedy Arnold concert, 18 Trinity Place.

9:30 to 10 p.m.: Rocket’s Red Glare fireworks display, behind Macdonough Monument.

SATURDAY’s Highlights

8:10 to 9 a.m.: Cannonball Run, registration then 9 p.m. start for 5K and 10K Fun Run, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. U.S. Oval.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Farmer and Crafters Market, Durkee Street pavilion.

10 to 11 a.m.: 1814 Battle Re-enactment, behind Beekmantown Town Hall, Spellman Road.

10 to 10:30 a.m.: Saratoga replica, demonstration, Champlain Monument, Cumberland Avenue.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Boy Scout BOP Stamp Cancellation, Trinity Park.

10 a.m. to noon: Kids Station, Transportation Museum, 12 Museum Way; and various fife-and-drum and pipe-and-drum units musical performances, Trinity Park and downtown area.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Historic First Presbyterian Church, self-guided tours, 34 Brinkerhoff St.

11 to 11:45 a.m.: The Connecticut Peddler (Stan Ransom) concert, Israel Green Tavern, 18 Trinity Place.

11 a.m. to  12:30 p.m.: Battle of Plattsburgh Challenge Cup, bateau race, Champlain Monument, Cumberland Avenue.

Noon to 8 p.m.: W2W ham radio on the air, Trinity Park.

Noon to 1:45 p.m.: Tom 24 (Tom Ventiquattro II) concert, Israel Green Tavern, 18 Trinity Place.

12:15 to 1 p.m.: Kids Muster, immediately followed by Kids Parade, Trinity Park.

1 to 4 p.m.: Parade starts at Elks Lodge on Cumberland Avenue. Immediately following: Beat Retreat by massed bands, City Hall, then Roducky Derby, Macdonough Monument and then the Rotary Bed Race, City Hall Place.
