He was also instrumental in incorporating the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base into city boundaries after it closed in 1995.

“I’ve been meeting with as many voters as possible and giving them my background and letting them know about my involvement in responsible promotion and development of the region,” he said.

Hall, owner of Bobby’s Lounge on South Catherine Street, served as a city councilor for eight years in the 1980s. He ran for mayor and lost in 1991 and again in 2004.

Campaigning for write-in votes on Tuesday, he said his experience in business and in government would make him a good legislator.

“I believe I will be the stronger voice in government. I fought hard for my constituents as a councilor, and I will again and do as much as I can for city residents,” Hall said.
