Read said they would send out an email to gauge interest, but anyone else interested in a listing should contact him at email@example.com.
Association Secretary Mary Gillen of Paychex said the focus should be on downtown businesses, as it is intended to be a walking map. Joshua Kretser of pod studio suggested the listings on the back include local taxi companies.
The consensus was that the hand-drawn version was preferable. Association members said they would like to have both a flier-sized map for distribution to visitors and a placemat-sized map for restaurants.
Coonrod said she would get back to the two designers and ask for another sample.
NONPROFIT IN FUTURE
The members agreed to have the association become a member of the Lake City Local Development Corp. Read encouraged the business owners to also join that organization.
He said the association will need to create some form of nonprofit organization at some point in the future. That would include a membership fee.
Those at the meeting chose to return to the name Plattsburgh Downtown Association.
The next meeting is scheduled for 7 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Press-Republican, 170 Margaret St.
