BCS Board to set goals at Tuesday session

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Central School Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the Middle/High School library. 

Agenda items include appointments and district and board goal setting.

The session is open to the public.

  

Draft Lake Placid-North Elba plan revealed

LAKE PLACID — The first public draft of the proposed Lake Placid-North Elba Comprehensive Plan is now available for public review.

It is posted on the web at adkroost.com under the “Resources” section and also linked to the Town of North Elba and Village of Lake Placid websites.

The draft will be formally presented to the public at an informational meeting in the North Elba Room of the Lake Placid Conference Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Community members are being encouraged to review the draft before attending the meeting. The final steps will be to present the plan to the Town Council and Village Board for a public hearing and eventual adoption.

The Comprehensive Plan is the product of two years of work involving more than 70 individuals.

The process was orchestrated by the Lake Placid-North Elba Community Development Board with the help of Elan Planning of Saratoga Springs and the New York State Department of State, with funds provided under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund.

Chateaugay School Board meeting planned

CHATEAUGAY — The Chateaugay Central School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at the school.

The board will hear a capital project update and discuss policy related to online banking, security badges and student use of personal technology.

An executive session is expected to be held to discuss the superintendent search.

Board meetings are open to the public.

Rouses Point Planning Board session canceled

ROUSES POINT — The Rouses Point Planning Board meeting scheduled for Monday, Aug. 26, has been canceled.
