Annual report: The town’s annual financial report will be filed electronically with the State Comptroller’s Office within 90 days from the start of 2013, said Jane West, secretary to the supervisor.
Pickup truck: The council gave the OK to go out to bid for a new pickup truck.
Planning Board: The Town Council voted to have Karl Schenck continue as Planning Board chairman and Robert Wolstenhome as vice chair.
Procurement policy: The council determined its Procurement Policy may be in need of revising in the next few months, Barcomb said. The policy determines when the town should go out to bid for large purchases.
Mileage rate: Town officials using their personal vehicles on town business will be reimbursed 55.5 cents per mile.
Sound system: The town is looking into purchasing a pull-down screen, projector and sound system for council room presentations. “Sometimes people have trouble hearing” presentations at the meetings, Barcomb said in an interview. The council is looking to spend about $2,000 on the new items.
Delegate chosen: Councilor John Cooper was designated as a delegate for the Association of Towns annual meeting in New York City on Feb. 18.
Meeting dates: The Champlain Town Council meets at the Town Office at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. However, in April the meeting will be on April 16.
On the agenda for Feb. 12 will be discussion on consolidating the town’s two water and two sewer districts. William Favreau, attorney for the town, will offer advice on the matter, and the recommendation of engineers will be considered, Barcomb said.
The consolidation would not have an effect on the number of properties served, he noted.
