“There’s enough of everything else,” Melanie Burnell, a regular out-of-town shopper said. “I’m glad to see a children’s store opening up.”
Last October, Crazy 8 released its news about the Plattsburgh shop, then saying it expected to open in spring 2013, one of about 90 new locations planned for this year. “We need selection,” Diana Trim, a grandmother to a set of toddler twins, said, “and the kids are going to love it.”
For the time being, Trim said she depends on department stores to suit her grandkids’ needs, but a wider variety is not only needed, but will also be more fun.
The Children's Place followed with its announcement in early December. Many local shoppers heard about the new stores around the holidays, and for Michelle Corthell, she has been looking forward to the grand openings ever since.
As a fan of The Children’s Place, Corthell makes the trip over to Vt. in order to shop there, so the new location will serve as a great convenience to her.
“We don’t have a lot of children’s stores around here,” she said.
