---- — Owens’s staff to hold outreach sessions
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Members of Congressman Bill Owens’s staff will hold meetings with in Essex, Franklin and Hamilton counties next week in an ongoing effort to increase constituent outreach.
Constituents are encouraged to attend to seek help with a federal agency or express an opinion on a matter currently pending before the House of Representatives.
A session is set for 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Newcomb Town Hall, 5639 State Route 28N.
Meetings on Thursday are: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Tupper Lake Village Board Room, first floor, 53 Park St.; 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., Saranac Lake Village Office, second floor, 39 Main St.; and 3 to 5 p.m. at the Lake Placid Beach House, 49 Parkside Drive, Lake Placid.
Absentee ballot deadline set for Tuesday
PLATTSBURGH — Completed absentee ballots for the Plattsburgh City School vote must arrive in the district clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
At the polls that day, School Board candidates will appear in the following order on the ballot: Amelia Goerlitz, Ronald A. Marino, Walter Peter Chmura, Robert Donal and Kathie Cameron-Murray.
Altona Clerk’s Office to close for a week
ALTONA — The Town Clerk and Tax Collector’s Office at 3124 Miner Farm Road will be closed beginning Monday, May 20, for one week.
The office will reopen on Monday, May 27.

NCCS Board to meet after budget vote
CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton Central School Board will meet at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday to accept the results of the budget and School Board vote.
Also on the agenda are retirements.
The meeting is open to the public.
