BCSD offers superintendent survey

BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown Central School is surveying its community members on the type of leader they would like for the district.

“We’d just like to understand what the people of the community here would like to see us select for a superintendent,” Beekmantown Central School Board President Leonard King told the Press-Republican.

He said that offering the survey, which can be accessed through the district’s website, bcsdk12.org, until midnight on Wednesday, May 15, is one of the board’s first steps in securing a successor to BCSD Superintendent Scott Amo.

Amo announced last month his plans to retire from the post in August after six years with the district.

Champlain Valley Educational Services Superintendent Craig King is serving as the School Board’s consultant in its quest for a new leader, which will involve a nationwide search, according to Leonard.

“We are in the process of getting it under way,” he said. “We’re doing the survey first.”

Individuals who do not have access to the Internet, Leonard noted, may request a hard copy of the survey by contacting District Clerk Joanne Menard at 324-2998.
