Altona man admits to downloading child porn

ALTONA — An Altona man is charged with possession and promotion of Internet child pornography.

Samuel Andrusia, 40, of 481 Devil’s Den Road downloaded commercial movies and pornography files from two online networks on his home computer at 5 p.m. April 3, said Chazy-based New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Investigator George Dire.

The activity was investigated by State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

Andrusia admitted the offenses to police on April 4, Dire said, and gave them consent to search his computer. Files were found from two online websites.

Andrusia was arrested at his place of employment at about 10 a.m. Thursday, Dire said.

He is charged with promoting the sexual performance of a child younger than 17 and possession of a sexual performance by a child, both felonies.

He was arraigned in Champlain Town Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear in court at 5:30 p.m. April 18.
