ALTONA — The Altona Town Council voted to fire secretary-to-the-supervisor Danielle Peryea following an executive session held during a special meeting on May 30.

Town Supervisor Larry Ross said the vote to end her employment was unanimous. He said he couldn’t yet say why the action was taken.

Peryea had been his secretary for five or six years, he said. He hoped to have a new person in the position in a week or so.

“We’re going through applications now,” he said.

Reached by phone, Peryea declined to tell the Press-Republican why she was let go.
