10 arrested in Essex County drug busts

ELIZABETHTOWN — Ten drug suspects were rounded up in a raid early Wednesday in Essex County.

State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Capt. Robert LaFountain said the people who were arrested were users or sellers of narcotics, mostly prescription drugs.

The suspects were brought in to the Essex County Courthouse on Wednesday morning, some having been awakened by police at 6:30 a.m.

Three State Police cars carrying defendants, including several from the Keeseville area, arrived at the courthouse about 11 a.m., with troopers escorting men and women of varying ages, all wearing handcuffs and shackles.

They were arraigned on felony drug-sale and -possession charges, some involving cocaine.

Those charged are: Amy E. Conway, 22, of Port Henry; Isa H. Coleman, 31, of Buffalo; Ralph J. Clark, 47, of Lewis, Brandy L. Ouellette, 31, of West Chazy and Brianne K. Montgomery, 26, of Keeseville.

Michael A. Abair II, 19, of Keeseville; Justin R. Jaquish, 17, of Keeseville; Keith S. Lincoln, 39, of Willsboro; Joshua L. Baker, 22, of Jay and Mark A. Roark, 25, of Chesterfield were also arrested in the roundup.

One of the men arrested, Isa Coleman, was arrested in Clinton County on drug charges in June 2007.

During his arraignment, Coleman told Essex County Judge Richard B. Meyer he was visiting his friend Amy Conway, who was also arrested Wednesday. Coleman said he is not currently employed and had recently traveled here from the Buffalo region to visit Conway.

He has nine prior convictions, all misdemeanors, according to Assistant District Attorney Michael Langey.

Previously, Coleman was stopped for a traffic infraction in Plattsburgh and gave police two false names. Coleman was then arrested on a felony charge of second-degree forgery and misdemeanor charges of two counts of second-degree falsifying business records, false impersonation and second-degree criminal impersonation.

Langey told the court that Coleman presents a flight risk.
